Thank you all for the kind replies. Carlos is doing OK right now. Heck it's a bulldog, very hard for themselves. This surgery was to repair the torn frontal knee ligament in his right knee. Revalidation starts today and will take some time. Carlos sister had the same problem and she recovered quite quickly. So i suppose Carlos will take up his modeling job pretty soon too
This whole surgery thing breaks the bank quite significantly, but what good am i with out Carlos? So no fancy gear this time... uhmm my siggy 50mm isn't that old either
Ray I know this might sound strange, but he is our mascott. Have you considered throwing up a paypal addy on here for donations to help with his surgery? Just a thought from another pet owner.

For the pleasure he has provided to us all, I will contribute. Just make sure you spend it on a D700
Our dog has gone through two knee surgeries now, he recovered well so will Carlos. I could have had a really nice setup for what was spent. However he is a priced family member and seeing him running again makes it worth it.

That's a nice idea. luckily this surgery has already been paid for. Maybe his other knee will have to be fixed too. I'll think about a paypal add then
I was a bit surprised the operating surgeons and assistant don't wear protective gloves to avoid infection. Here they do...well anyway hope he feels better soon.
Looks like he's a tough guy... glad to see everything went OK... we said a prayer over here for all of you....
Had the same situation a couple of years ago with my pooch... he had an intestine problem and was clearly dying... we had to have emergency surgery... and he pulled through ok.... it was very nerve racking and my wife was a mess.
Dakota... (remember the swimsuit model after Carlos?) and I read this thread with concern and would like to extend our best wishes for a very speedy recovery for everybody's favorite canine photo model! Get back into... ahem... ACTION soon Carlos! Great job on the documentary.
Nice to hear everything is okay with your bulldog..I sure do miss my bulldog..It was the perfect dog to photograph because my bulldog wouldn't move and I could place her in any position and she would stay there..
Excellent series of photographs Raymond. I particularly liked the Vet during surgery (N0.8) ; you did an excellent job with the light. Carlos waiting for his surgery (No.1) is also great, especially when the viewer knows the story.
I hope his troubles are now over and that he will have a fast recovery.
Thank you for sharing these pictures.
