always some interesting entries........I'll start off easy: FX and DX all included(all lenses must fit on D bodies and AF.!?)
24-70/ 2.8 AF-S
Perfect focal lenght for FX(wide enough for landscape or sharp enough for Portrait-Prime like sharpness, very fast, great IQ throughout the range....must have FX
I'll second the 24-70 f/2.8. I'd also add the 14-24 f/2.8 and any fast 70-200 or 80-200.
For wildlife shooting on a budget it's the 300 f/4 AF-S + 1.4 TC. For wildlife shooting with gobs of cash it's anything that costs more than my first car...a $4,000 Ford Fiesta :-)

you lucky dog! I was in the pro shop today and asked to see if they had one...but no dice- I would have picked it up too! In fact they said no 'S" lenses, they have had enough of them and won't order anymore(this is coming for the largest pro shop in Portland, I was surprised to hear that.....but they will be getting the newest Nikon 50mm 1.4 later this month!

Might be a cool lens but man do they need to make an outstanding 35/1.4. 35/2 is so run of the mill.

it all depends on your shooting style, i think. for me, my must have lenses are all prime lenses. i'd ideally like to own a 24/25mm, a 35mm, a 50mm, and a 135mm. out of all of them, the most used would be the 35mm.
