Ulrik, you will love the 105 f/2.5, as it has rounded aperture blades at 2.5!! I think you should get that one instead of the 1.8 (do you really need that extra stop? )

ummmmmm, 2.5 is wide open... sooooo.... wouldn't all lenses essentially have 'rounded blades' wide open?
and speed isn't the only reason to want a fast lens...
that being said... I have heard very good things about the 105 f2.5
Another vote for the 105mm f2.5. I have the 85L and the 105mm holds on its own on my 1Ds. Not to mention that it doesn't weight a ton, it has a nice hood and you can shoot around the streets without being spotted immediately.
Sorry these aren't too artsy, but I was able to experiment at the last Flyball tournament since I was only competing and got some nice shots with the Nikkor-S 50mm f/1.4...
Hey, I'm one of those whiners! I use AF extensively for some stuff, but manual focus (or pre-focusing with One Shot) for others. It really just depends on what I'm shooting, what I'm going for and what my customers are expecting. With this technique you're talking one photo per dog. Some of the shots I do with AF I can get a handful of good shots per run per dog.
