ANT, you rock on these man! And you Exif shows #1 & #3 were shot with the 500mm!(see what a benefit that exif is ) That shutter speed at 1/750 worked perfectly on the wings, neat how you can see the body detail through the wing blur BG's are super, man I know how difficult this is, in fact I have yet to nail one in-flight and you present a series of them buddy, sweet
I would rate these as..............stellar
Karl
Thanks Karl! Sorry about that I guess I should have checked the exif myself before posting > I forgot what I used and which shoot these came from as I pp them over different days.
Glad you liked them and rate them a "Stellar" grade
Great job Ant, did you freeze them!
see what a benefit that exif is Priceless.
Yes frozen and then throw them in the air and capture with interesting BG's > then create wing blur in PP or like the last shot >> Just freeze the action entirely
Geeze > I had my exifs removed years ago >> Not happy they've grown back............
Hey Ant, I'm back, did you miss me? I had to go get some coffee. These are very nice indeed. You are a great talent and an asset to this forum.
I was wondering about your technique, did you just hold down the shutter and once in a while one of these would fly by? You always say it is the equipment and not the person holding it, I'm beginning to agree with you. 2 & 4 are my favorites, must be the mkll 400 combo.
Tim
Heck Tim >> didn't even notice you were gone buddy
You are a great talent and an asset to this forum.
hmmm I'm waiting for the catch line >> The old knife in the back >> The old 1 2 1 2
Yes it's all in the equipment >> Heck I just take the camera with me in the yak .......
lay the thing down on the floor .......... When I get home : process all the great photos this thing took ............. I just row It's always a great surprise to see what the gear captured !!

Dude, you are a great sport!!
These are wonderful shots, I don't have any of these guys. But then again we don't have a lot of these guys. Great job buddy, I just wanted to raz you for a bit.
Great Job buddy.... I'm not going to add anymore about how hard these are to capture, you already know that... BUT WHAT THE! 36 post and your views are in the thousands... I heard that someone on DP review linked this thread and is taking full credit for it under another name (Tony someone) over there... You might want to check this out!
Now I thought I have patience with the birds but DFIF shots are something else again! I have NEVER captured one that I thought was good enough to post. These are all pretty awesome, Ant. I would have to go with #2 as my fave for the dark bg really bringing the DF out. But I know I'd consider it time well-spent if I'd taken any of these
