"With the launch of their new full format camera Canon have again redefined the camera. Aimed at enthusiasts and professionals alike, the new Canon EOS 5d Mk3 features an innovative, industry changing new "button-free" design. In a radical departure from convention, all functions of the camera are directly accessed at the "Speed of Thought" via the new patented "TeleCam" (TM) telepathic interface. No longer is the photographer held back by the anti-ergonomic button and screen interface. The TeleCam (TM) technology works by capturing brainwave radiation using the camera body as an antenna. In order to eradicate "crosstalk", a short training and tuning session is performed prior to use, during which time the camera "tunes" into the owner. Using the patented Canon "ThoughtMatch" (TM) technology, the camera is then able to compare the viewfinder image with the TeleDigic (TM) input filter and react only to commands pertaining to the image capture.
This technology is so effective that in tests, an average of 0.76 secs improvement in picture capture time was recorded (*) for professional photographers using the new TeleCam (TM) interface, whilst amateur photographers exhibited a staggering 1.5 secs improvement (*). The "ThoughtMatch" (TM) technology is so effective that in a test using 100 randomly selected Natural Blondes, an overall 95% command accuracy rate was measured.

1) BETTER AF!!!! Please! It doesn't have to be 1D level. Maybe use the new 7D AF. It seems pretty good from what I hear. Maybe the AI Servo will actually be able to track subjects with some reliability.
2) Same ISO range as the new 1D IV. Not a huge deal to be able to use 100,000+. But having a really strong 6400 that is extremely good would rock. A 12,800 noise level that matches the original 5D 1600 would be a dream.
3) 5 FPS. That is good enough for most non-sports shooters, but still works for us wedding and lifestyle portrait photographers who can use some rapid fire for certain moments.
4) The new UDMA 6 standard
Nice to haves:
1) Better weather sealing
2) Built in AF Assist since shooting in lower light is much easier
3) sRAW at 12MP instead of 10
4) SDHC backup slot - Of course this is really a key separator from the 1D series, so I totally understand why this would be left out.
5) Personally, I'd prefer to leave the MP where they are. If they must go up, please no more than 24MP to make a nice even sRaw at 12MP.
We'll see. In so many ways, the 7D is a better camera, minus the sweet Full Frame sensor
Don't forget the stereo shotgun mike (video only) on the remote controlled boom that positions itself based on the subject in the live view window. Joystick manual override next to the two direct print buttons.

probably so!
but I would hope 21-28MP, 6.5fps, 1D4 or very slightly watered down AF, Digic V for better video quality (and to help get the 6.3fps), none of that LCD in the VF stuff if it means no interchangeable focusing screens!
unfortunately I am almost certain it will be instead:
32-35MP, 3.9fps, 7D AF, single digic V, LCD in VF and no optional screens

Is weathersealing 7D somehow different to 5D mk II? Why would I point everything to 7D if not? Is it benchmark already?
I got it straight from a canon rep in Japan when I asked him to tell me about the new 5D MK III, he said the new camera is going to be like.....oh oh hat dag!

This is very close an estimate, and I will get one late winter 2011. Will be a magnificent Hasselblad replacement with the ZE21, 135L and 400f5.6IS
