Im pretty sure everyone who has said "if this next camera doesnt have... then im going to Nikon" has said it for every new release. They never switched to Nikon, and they got the new camera anyway.
I asked my uncle Yuri at Canon and his latest intel reports (these cost me quite a bit of rum so be grateful) is that Canon is sick and tired of people *itchin and complaining so what they're going to do for the 5D3 is a 'build-it-yourself' value camera type thing. They won't be sold by camera retailers anymore. Instead Canon will have franchises all over the place (you'll recognize them by the big red ring and a grinning Chuck Westfall doll outside) where you walk in and go up to a kiosk. You punch in how many megapixels you want, body construction etc... and then they make it right there for you on the spot with Canon's new Hybrid Nanomechabot technology. They considered drive-thrus but they figure an in-house experience is better than an outhouse experience.
Love that pic (makes me miss both my former 85L II and Starbucks coffee which is sadly not available in Sweden).
As for the 5D III, the only improvement I'd like is the addition of four more, non customizable, direct print buttons as well as four more USB connectors.
This would enable to print my images directly to up to five printers at the same time!!!

1) Better Battery Door
2) Better N/R Algorithm
3) Decent AF like 40D/50D's
4) Decent Live View/Video AF
5) Wireless Flash Controller
6) Error Code Free
7) $2700 is a joke s/b $1500-1800 retail value

I only want shiftable DEP mode and ECF back. Everything else is perfect.
This is a bizarre request IMO. The only problem I have with any of these non 1 series cameras is the AI servo, which while sometimes good, is often crap. I actually think the 5D/5D II with it's invisible assist points is better for AI servo, and the 40D/50D is better in one shot with off centre AF points.
Let's hope they have finally delivered a much improved AF by the time any updates ever come out for the 5D II; I'd be bitterly disappointed to see the current AF soldier on. At worst they should expand the coverage and number of points.

Well all I can say is Sweden is a lucky place! Over priced cups of foam that nobody seems to be able walk/go anywhere without trying to sip thru that stupid little hole in a plastic lid while also trying to talk/text on a phone.
Find a nice little family owned Italian coffee shop , order a proper espresso in a proper little cup , sit and watch the world go by.

Well now that the 5d Mark II is officially released its time to be rumoring about the successor to the new camera the 5d III, ISO 100,000? 40 megapixels? ETTL control onboard? Maybe it will be capable of freezing your subject by altering time space continuum rules or be capable of shooting into the past.
what do you think it will have?
Lets see how long it takes THIS thread to reach 100 pages lol.
The onboard computer, equipped with military-grade face recoginition software which will analyze all faces in the frame. It will then transmit this data to Canon via satellite where the persons in the shot are all identified and analyzed.
The camera will then zoom in to capture part of the scene, based on certain rules:
1. If a couple is identified as "shouldn't be together because they're married to someone else" then this takes highest priority, The shot will zoom in on them, being careful to include something to identify the location (restaraunt, hotel, etc.) and it will snap off a shot. The image will contain in it's metadata the information needed to send these two people their blackmail note (along with the pic of course).
2. If #1 fails, then default mode would be for the camera to sinply focus on the most attractive, single female in the crowd and shoot her. Her address and phone number will also appear in the metadata.
Obviously no one knows right now what the specs will be or how much it will cost. So this is just my opinion and most educated guess at what it could be:
32MP
5 FPS
Same AF as 7D
Same weather sealing as 7D
ISO 102,600 (or whatever the new D3s/IDM4 is)
1080P Video at 24/30/60p
720P Video at 120p
Dual DIGIC5 or 6
