I can confirm that the weather sealing works!
I went out earlier tonight down to a local beach, And I had been shooting in the sand and surf, So I thought I would give my tripod a quick wash under the beach showers, Well someone had messed around with the shower head, And instead of it spraying down and onto my tripod, It sprayed sideways and onto my 5D2 that was hanging over my shoulder!
Ouch. Glad it worked out and thanks for testing the water resistance. Hopefully this will help quell some the concerns people have about the camera.

Anyone received confirmation of shipment in the last day or two from Adorama...if so, body or kit??
My friend called me yesterday to say that his kit is on the way from Adorama, due Monday. What's weird, though, is that he just ordered last week!
Anyone received their body-only order from Amazon? I ordered mine on September 17. Looks like I will receive my spare battery from Adorama way ahead of the camera!
Citro and JerryKur,
I always use auto WB and shoot raw so that I can adjust to my heart's content later. The Trax shot is strictly fun, and not for critical analysis in any way shape or form...as WilliamG said, just some 3:00AM madness. I guess I'm weird, but sometimes I just like to have fun with this stuff and experiment.
I'll tell you what...that new LCD is to die for. At night, I can see all my settings in big sharp print and not have to be putting my glasses on and off constantly. My 51 year old eyes are rejoicing. For me, the LCD alone is worth the price of admission.
Cheers,
Scott

AGREED. The LCD is tremendous. I have an XSi here next to me, and taking the same photo on the 5D vs the XSi is just mind-blowingly different in terms of viewing it on the body. And I'm 27 (28 tomorrow, w00t!), and my eyes are still rejoicing. Don't need to be in your 50s to appreciate the difference, lemme tell ya!

There is a rare edition of 5D II on ebay and I would think it is far under-priced if it exists. Hurry up if you are still lokking for a 5D II:
I hate people that buy rare items like that ONLY to turn around and attempt to make a profit, while the people that actually want them can't partially because of these assholes. Same thing happened when I was looking for a Wii about a year ago. Grrrrrrr.......

You might misundstand my point . Look at the picture carefully, I believe is a "TRUE" rare edition of 5D II because my 5D II does not look that way.

It is a neat shot. Glad to hear you are liking the camera. I hope mine ships soon.
FWIW, I am 52, so I fully understand about the LCD part. I have trouble discerning the images from my 1dMK2.

definitely some PP going on here :-)

On this shot there is no black dot but there is purple dot and this is due to a sharpness+contrast proccess algorithm flaws. It seems something like that on extreme highlight small points. Canon should look that because its easy to reproduce that error. I hope that its is not sensor problem.photo
