If you want to feel that it's not civil, that's up to you.
It's an observation that just because people don't like the reality of a situation won't make it go away, no matter how much the same stuff is written over and over again.
I could have made if fluffier, but that wouldn't have changed the reality of it either.
Try and modify the usage of "ignorant rubbish" when commenting on another's post. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I did the same thing. Hope this doesn't turn out to be a problem, or I'll be cheesed off. I preordered it day 1....
I also ordered on day 1. Later got the Amazon Store Card. Wrote them an email asking if I switched payment methods if I would lose my place in line. They said no, and switched it for me.
Not a guarantee that it won't happen, but perhaps some reassurance.
Just got off the phone with Amazon..thanks for posting the phone number..I ordered my 5D II on Sept 17th. The girl on the phone told me they ship first to the customers who ordered it overnight first..I asked her where I was on the list and she said she couldn't access that information. I had ordered it expediated (cheap)..I asked her if I changed the shipping method would i drop on the list.
Frankly I have no confidence in anything she said..

But it's on order...
woohoo
That was also my experience with Amazon. I pre-ordered my 40D last time with them but chose the standard shipping. Instead of first order first serve. They ship out their order based on the shipping method you choose. As a result, I pre-ordered my 5DII from Adorama this time. Hope they don't do the same thing.

Well, I rolled the dice that i might lose my spot (that sounds ridiculous) and went for 1 business day shipping..
In the world of Amazon, I guess it might make sense even though the woman on the phone was clueless.

Actually B&H does it the same way, and probably so do a number of other stores. However, if we presume that the stores halted pre-orders with the number of cameras they expect to receive before the end of the year, shipping the cameras with next-day shipping first, it should not push your receipt much farther back.

And as I write the reply there's the definitive... Thanks stanj. That's what I needed to know! Out the door it will go with the rest of the setup.
Here's why: http://fm.jirman.com/5Dbottom.jpg
Thanks for the photo comparing the cameras. What is the slider or latch thing that is on the left side of the bottom of the camera? Is that a port for hooking something up, or a way to activate something? In either case, it is something that RSS will likely need to allow access to if they can, making a new plate design harder that the previous one for the 5D. I will use a tempoary plate until I can get an RSS L plate, but would like to know what that "new" thing is if any one happens to know.
