Nah, no EOSfun at all. Serious design flaws. It lacks the hood which is essential for this kind of application. Also I want a less vulnerable design. Besides, who wants to be seen with such an ugly animal
Back OT, new rumor: Canon changed their body(parts) production line which is gonna effect a 5D succesor ...
There is some funny funny stuff here. I have to post this from elsewhere since it's worth of a laugh.

Recent news has reported that Canon made an offer bid to buy Nikon. An inside source has released a transcript of the taped conversation with Canons Chuck Westfall and Michio Kariya, the President of Nikon:
WESTFALL
There is no escape. Don't make
me destroy you. You do not yet
realize your importance. You
have only begun to discover your
IQ resolving power. Join me and I will complete
your camera line up.
With our combined strength,
we can end this destructive
conflict between the brands and bring order to the
camera .
KARIYA
I'll never join you!
WESTFALL
If you only knew the power of the
dark side. Mr Olympus never told
you what happened to your father.
KARIYA
He told me enough! It was you
who killed the 1D Mk III AF...... and my father.
So to come back on topic. I spend a week on studying all accessable rumors and at least with my own genius I found out the new 5D (II) will have/be:
- best IQ seen ever
- highest reolution
- highest useable ISO performence
- stunning Viefinder, display, AF
- great new features like video
- highest shutter rate
- an amazing ergonomic design
- an affordable price of 2000-2200
- lifetime warranty (for those over 80)
- lots of eosfun
Pretty dated specs. In 2025 I would expect digital technology to be like film/analog technology today ... and replaced by something totally new and different and better, of course.

Seems to be the rumored 21MP sensor is going to be 16MP if the more current "rumors" are to be believed.
In light of the 50d and the grossly overpriced 1Ds, Canon will protect the 1 series. There's little doubt about that (until 2009 anyway), even if it means Canon has to release a ridiculous 1MP difference between the 1.6x 50d and FF whateverD will replace the 5d.....
18MP is a great number. Compared to 50D sensor technologie it would make 2 stops higher in ISO, means real 6400 and maybe great enhanced 12800 (compared to calculated 3200 now) and still usable 25600.
The files will still be "handelble" and offer a 3MP crop capability even to 150dpi prints in A1 postersize. :-) All I need the next 5 years
I disagree. I expect some major policy shifts in Canon. I am sure the folks at Canon knows the seriousness of the threat from Nikon and Sony, and they are not taking this lightly. They need to stem the flow of people crossing over or back to Nikon. Canon is not going to disappoint us this time. We are already seeing a higher tech sensor, high-def screen, and Digic IV in a prosumer DSLR. They will unleash even more new kick-ass features with the 5D replacement. The 1-series upgrades will probably happen at PMA in February. And you can count on it that Nikon is not sitting on its laurels either, and Sony wants to a bigger slice of the pro-DSLR market share. This fierce competition is good news to consumers!
