after a long waiting periode I finally got the RRS MH-01 together with B2-Pro II clamp. You have to get it in your hands and work with it - a real joy. Any description in words cannot match the practical way of using it. I really recommend this piece of craftsmanship, not really cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Congrats, mine is on the way and takes about 5 days to get to Australia. I too ordered the MH-01 together with the B2-Pro II clamp. I can't wait to get mine

Perry, I know you ordered at the same time like me, however I'm wondering it took only three days for a door to door delivery to Philippines.

Hi Picfox,

Mine was shipped on the 08 Aug so it might take a few more days. I also live 300km from the big city as well, that will take another day as well

My wife reports mine has been delivered, I preordered when they were out of stock. Just 29 days until I'll be home to use it, can't wait. The Bogen swivel thing was okay but not really the cat's meow.

$65 sounds reasonable all the way to the Philippines

So what does everyone think of the head? Are you guys just using it on a monopod?

Looking at their site, I see that they show it used on a full wimberely - I was kind of thinking it could be used on a sidekick with the body plate, instead of a telephoto lens, when I don't want to take time to remove the sidekick. Does that sound crazy?

I just got mine. Spend the money folks. Its great. Drips quality. Smooth as silk and those Arca Swiss plates just slip right in that clamp.

I agree with John, it is a must if you use a monopod or if you own a wimberley head. Many a time I wanted to use my 24-70 lens on my tripod in between my wildlife shoot but i can't. Now I can. This is just a brilliant design

I am not following you Perry. Are you saying you can because you did not have the tripod with you? Or because that lens infuriates the kangaroos and they attack it whereas if you had a monopod with the head you could immediately use it as a club to fight them off.

Sorry John, maybe I will start again

What I am trying to say is very flexible and versatile, just brilliant. It is fantastic when used with your monopod for long lenses.

Now if you own the wimberley head, the added bonus is you can attached this unit to the head and that way your camera plate can sit on this unit. This way you can use both long and short lenses on your wimberley head
