I decided to go in another direction with my alternative lenses and have never used it. I did attach it to my 1Ds2 just to see how it fits, and it seems to fit well but without a Nikon lens attached I can't say for sure. The camera reads f/1.8 with the apter installed, which is good because you want the camera to think the lens is at least as fast as the alternative lens you're actually using for accurate AF indication.
I wouldn't recommend this adapter for 1D-series or film bodies that have the little AF switch at the 10:00 o'clock position in the body flange. Some eBay sellers say to put a little piece of paper behind the switch before installing the apadpter, but that sounds like a pain to me. Other eBay sellers don't even bother telling you about the AF switch, so beware of those guys who suggest their AF chip works with all models. To my knowledge only the expensive Haoda and HappyPageHK adapters have a special screw to activate this AF switch. (more info)
This adapter should be compatible with these consumer/prosumer models which do not have the AF switch: Rebel XSi, Rebel XTi, Rebel XT, Rebel, 450D, 400D, 350D, 300D, 30D, 20D, 10D and 5D.
I paid $50 with shipping from Hong Kong, I'd do $40 PP'd and mailed within CONUS.
