As always, some great pics of been posted. I'm partial to a decent amount of distortion; not an insane amount. Here are a few of mine I've collected on my web hosted page. All shot with a 1d2 and canon 15 2.8
I have to admit that before reading this thread I didn't own a Fisheye.. but as of yesterday I now own a Tokina 10-17 and have the 11-16 f/2.8 on order.
I've owned the Tokina 12-24 for a number of years and mainly bought it to photograph the inside of my house as it was being built so I had a record of all the wiring and plumbing pipes now hidden behind the drywall. These photos have saved me a couple times already.
I've used the 12-24 on my Mark III and can get some decent shots at about 13/14 without having to crop the corners.
I have a question that might sound a bit dumb but I thought I would ask it anyway.
Question.. When using a lens (example) 500mm on any a Mark III or 40D you get the advantage of the smaller sensor size (650mm for Mark III and 800mm on the 40D) so does this work the opposite for a lens that was built for a 1.6 sensor as all the Tokina lenses are by using it on a 1.3 or Full Frame camera.
I know you loose the corners from vignetting but say you shoot the 10-17 on a Mark III will the wide end (10mm) be the equivalent of a 7mm shot on the Mark III so when you crop the corners you still end up with close to a 10mm shot. I would think it would but I wasn't sure.
