While we impatiently await cogitech's pictures, I am going to jump back into the 40mm range discussion....
I magically discovered a like-new Flektogon 35/2.4 and a like-new Asahi SMC 55/1.8 in one of my many camera boxes yesterday , and both of them are incredibly good (except for a heavier weight and longer barrel than my Oly 24/2.8). This discovery, along with the fact that my "new" Industar 50-2 is on its way from Russia (I hope!) don't let me justify paying $400 for the Voigtlander 40/2 any longer. The Oly 40/2 is almost impossible to find and just as expensive.
But for $200 I can go for either Nikon GN 40/2.8 (7-blade version) or Pentax-M 40/2.8. The bokeh on Nikon doesn't look good up to f8. Is Pentax a better choice?

How many other magical camera boxes do you have ?
I don't know. They are all scattered around the house from 10 years ago. I also found a few flash brackets, a like-new macro bellows (FD mount ), 2 different macro sliders and a couple of range finder MF cameras in the same box!! And all I was doing was looking for my Nikon-EOS adapter!!
Haven't found any dirt cheap EOS-FD adapters yet. I may try gluing an EOS body cap to the end of the bellows. And on the other end I can attach my old FD 24/2 lens (which I also found in the same box - a very profitable box )
