The humble old manual focus 50/1.8 lenses from any manufacturer are excellent for macro work when reversed and extended - all of my larger bug stacks (up to around 4:1) are all shot with an ancient OM50/1.8 which cost around $15 inc P&P! (search this forum for "Hornet" and take a look at my post for a recent example)
Can you ( or anyone ) suggest where to get a 4/3s reversing adapter? I have been looking but the closest I can find is a Om reversing adapter that I would have to mount onto my OM-4/3s adapter.
I'm hoping to use it on my 50mm 1.8 or 28mm f 2.8.
I think I've seen 4/3 reverse adapters on ebay, but what's wrong with using an OM one on the front of the MF1? I suspect the old OM ones may be better built than the new 4/3 ones which iirc are coming out of China very cheaply... If you get an OM one then tubes would be easier (well a lot cheaper anyway!) to add to the mix...
I'm lucky in that the OM bellows has a neat feature where you can easily reverse the lens by just reversing the whole front of the bellows. The cardboard bit then screws onto the front of the lens instead of the rear of the front block of the bellows..

May I post some using a 44mm lens on a compact?
I use it unnatached on my A510, gets the same magnification and working distance of 2cm
thanks for the advice on upping my f/stop to f/22 or higher while using diopters tom. I just posted some water drop shots I did after you told that to me and I love the depth of field it gave me. i posted in the thread "lets see your best water drops"

Thanks Tom - I am new to this techique and looking to give it a go. Can you give some idea of what magnification a 50mm lens (likely to be an old FD) would give reversed? Camera would be a 40d if that matters
I have an "old" Nikkor-H 50mm (52 mm) I would like to try on my 20D - BUT where does one get a lens reversal adapter for an EOS? I want just a cheap basic adapter. Any suggestions? It's obviously possible, but I haven't found one yet.
