Andreas,

I assume you are adding alot of blur through photoshop on shots like the ferns and some of the other macro flower shots. Is that correct?

I never add blur in PS. I use large apertures and close distances.

Never used a macro lens around and over 1:1 macro ratio at wide apertures?

Yes, thanks Ahamb I have. Just saw extra DOF on some shots for the amount of blurring I was seeing. I see now a couple were taken with the TSE-90 lens which I didn't see before. The ferns shot looked like there was extra blurring to me because some of the frawns in the front looked more blurred than some in the back but I think that is to do with the angle of those frawns in the back which are more parallel with the plane of the camera than the ones in front which are perpendicular to the camera plane.

The blue flower shot with the MPE-65 seems to have more DOF than what I see with my 100 and 135 macro but must be due to the difference a wider angle macro lens gives you.

I assume you don't do any focus stacking either with any of your macro shots, correct?

Do not mean to offend anyone or upset anyone, just trying to learn more about macro.

I was not offended at all. I can see a difference in DOF with the mp-e 65 and the Zuiko 38/2.8. Shorter lens. More dof. Thus there should be a big difference between a 65 and a 100 or 135 mm macro.

Tilt can make wonders for dof... Look at the yellow flowers.

Sorry for the confusion. It's a Canon 100mm macro lens on a 40D.

Hi, That's OK, as you can see in the posts above we got that figured out, but what freak'n Canon 100/2.8 Macro? I think they have made at least three different ones. /Jonas

I am going to get one of those 180/2.8 apo's one day.

Here's another Leica lens, the 35/2 summicron-R wide open:

Winter comes along quite suddenly here in Perth, it was around 33C last week and now it's quite chilly and the greenery is re-emerging.

Sorry for the crap shot, it's almost a 100% crop (let's say 85%?) wide open, and I was just playing around so no real subject or meaning to the shot.

Nikkor 105/2.5 AIS wide open on FF, at a little bit of distance. This lens is unbelievably good when it comes to bokeh.
