Roll 055: 3rd roll through the GW690II, 1st roll of Portra 160: An unholy but competent alliance.

Roll 056: RZ67 Pro II with Ortho: I can't wait to finish my remaining rolls and never buy it again.

Defects ahoy! I have seen this in every single roll of ortho while all other rolls look spotless even though all rolls are treated exactly the same.

Roll 057: RZ67 Pro II with Ektar: I need to stop using Ektar in high dynamic range situations. But at least my meter skills have improved.

Edit: And I am super stoked about my next set of rolls which will include my first roll of Delta 3200, which was filled up in a library on a night just before finals week.

Ektar has been a challenge for me with more color shifts than Pro 400H for example, so I have not yet been wowed by any of my Ektar shots. But perhaps it is due to user error.

I would highly recommend one, sharp and good contrast. Make sure you buy one that the focus lever is not broken or bound. There is someone over at Photrio that rebuilds them.

What conversion methods did you try?
There was a gentlemen posting on this forum (thread) a few years ago who was getting remarkable colors from/with Ektar 100. He even shared his methodology as well.
Ektar is my mostly used color negative film in all formats and I cant complain about results comparing to all other emulsions.

I use Negafix's model for Ektar. But my most recent troubles were with a relatively new camera, so perhaps the issue was with the shutter timing being off (at least two exposures looked off by more than 1 stop). I noticed a small backlash issue with the rangefinder, so I will send the camera out for CLA anyway, and I have asked them to take a look at the shutter timings while it's there.

I too have seen great results with Ektar, and since Fuji is discontinuing a bunch of their stuff, I am committed to make Ektar work for me. I'm sure I will get there eventually.

Good luck. I'm certain it can be figured out.
But, if you like Fuji, you can still order it from Japan (not at crazy bay prices) and stock pile in the fridge.
For me Kodak works as well as Fuji, so I chose the least hassle route.

Thanks. Yes, I've read about the focusing lever. Probably good to get them CLA'd once you get one.
