I have a nearly complete set of Pen F lenses from the 20/3.5 to the 150/4 including the 42/1.2 and 60/1.5. I used them on Sony APS-C bodies but have never had a Pen F body. Seeing the images you guys are making has reawakened my on-again-off-again interest in getting one. However when I checked both an FT and an FV at a dealer’s a couple of weeks ago I was put off by the dim viewfinder in both models.
I’d appreciate any feedback on your experiences in this regard.
I've been on the hunt for Pen F lenses, but I don't want to spend too much. Landed on a vintage Exakta adapter, so I'll do some half-frame Trioplan shots at some point.
I got the Pen F on looks alone, I had to have that etched gothic F on the camera body. The viewfinder isn't particularly dim to me, but I haven't directly compared to any of my other camera bodies, might do that after work today.
An observation. I shot two rolls consecutively in the M7 with the 50 Asph. Ist roll TriX, 2nd roll C200.
Two admittedly completely different films. However I was still surprised as to how much sharper C200 (a so-called amateur film) is compared to TriX. It has way more resolution.

My newly purchased Pen FT is en route from Japan. In looking for one I was shocked at the prices being asked for some of the more desirable lenses. One lens that I wish I had but don't is the 38mm f/2.8 pancake—the cheapest one currently listed on eBay has a price tag of nearly USD700.

Congrats! I'm watching a couple on ebay now (42/1.2 and 100-200), but I'm probably not going to buy anything. Not sure that's the best way to spend my camera dollars. Very tempted though.

Fantastic shot. Did you build the camera yourself?
Thanks, I did build the Kraken from Graham's plans. I have another of that location on Ektar but it was a bit later in the day and the light wasn't as nice. Haven't developed that roll yet.
