My XA (which I never leave home without) overexposes by 2 stops, I guess the light cell has lost its sensitivity over the years. Pulling the film in developing gives me a very low contrast photo and adding contrast in post makes it too grainy grrr
Any idea how to adjust an XA's lightmeter before I go and buy another one (which will probably have the same problem)?
I would love to have that problem on an XA, and be able to shoot ASA 3200 film. When I sent my old one in for repairs, I had the tech adjust the meter to read a stop fast so I could get a 50-1600 range. I had originally wanted 2 stops, but he said that was beyond the tolerances of the meter adjustment.
I know this is not exactly fine grain film (neopan400) and a pretty average scan, but I have to say I'm a little bit impressed by this lens's 3-dimensionality and old school rendering. Or is it just me?
Looking good, everyone. Glad to see people shooting film day after day! Life without digital cameras is good.
Here are a few. The last shots from my recently sold Mamiya 645AF. 80 2.8AF and 45 2.8AF. Fuji 160s, quick scans for web through an Epson 4990. Oregon coast.
I am thinking of selling my II because I found a niece-ish 3, bit the 3 has a really high shutter count. What are you looking at paying? Nice light, especially in the last shot.
Spyro, that 40/2 is a nice lens for sure! That is the SC version right? I love Neopan!
Nate not sure about coatings... its the ancient "QF" version of the lens so in theory it should be SC, but I can see all kinds of colours reflecting on the front element which makes me think otherwise. The film is actually rebranded neopan from freestylephoto, I stocked up a little bit
