Well, that's kinda cool. For me, it's the reference to Dime Box that comes from Willis Alan Ramsey's Northeast Texas Woman, a song I sing on occasion that gives it life. Thanks for that.

Welcome, Peter. Dime Box AND Old Dime Box are both on my way to Austin; my son and daughter-in-law live there.
Here are two images which I will share about. This thread is where I share all my personal photos (life, family, etc) so I will share this. Last summer my wife was diagnosed with a rare cancer, Leiomyosarcoma (LMS). During her chemo this past fall and winter, all of her hair fell out. Naturally, this compounds the whole stress issue of the cancer, along with the body changes that happen with all the poisons from the chemo drugs. However, my wife was encouraged by a peer to embrace the changes, document it pictorially as just part of her journey. She chose to do this. We did a photo session a few weeks back with my thrown together studio. Digital and film shot (the film is awaiting development). She had a 3 week break in chemo due to low blood counts and the ending of a round of chemo so she had a good weekend (physically felt good enough to get out in nature) so we went out to a waterfall that we enjoy. Here is a self portrait of us and then one of her. I am proud of her embracing this (the wig she got has only been worn once, in the very beginning) and this was our valentine photo to share on FB. Good news is, chemo is done tomorrow and the healing can begin.
Cancer is tough. I lost my dad, my only sibling (older brother) and then my mom over the last three years. It just rocks your world. But life is great. Throughout my period in this darkness I sort of had very little time or interest in photography. I am slowly emerging from the dark tunnel and the desire to shoot, try new lenses and think like a photographer again has been wonderful.
What you are doing, using photography on this journey, is just super cool. I wish you both the very best...
Thanks for sharing Jon, it's a beautiful image, well done! and the very best wishes and thoughts to you and your wife into the future (and to rico and Max.)
