Happy Christmas to everyone on this image thread!
Fantastic images from "TooManyShots" love the composition and tonality from FP4 and your DSLR scanns.
A few studies in texture taken with a Rolleifles SL66 (apart from the last one with a Pentax 67) all with TriX in XTOL stock scanned with my Nikon Coolscan 9000

It is on an Estar base so much thinner and stronger stock than normal film and came in 100' cans. The core though was different so had to re-spool it by hand onto an old ilford core so it would fit in my bulk loader. Appears to be similar if not the same emulsion as tmy2. Bought a bulk roll expired 2010 for $25 so naturally could not pass that up. I know the other Kodak surveillance films have gotten great reviews and seem some great sample work, ie the Hawkeye films.
So figured I would share this in our little film corner of the interwebs.
I am involved in a pretty cool project. Old highschool friend of mine who is a photog in Nashville in the music industry is finishing up a book and has been carrying around a trashbag in his freezer for the past 13+ years of exposed, undeveloped film. He would always send off to the lab and switched to digital so this is the last of his film archive which dates back to the mid 90's working in the industry. Well, I took the bag off film off him and am developing and scanning stuff which has not been seen yet. Pretty cool (at least to a film nerd like me). Here is a link to his upcoming book coming out http://weintrobphotography.com/instrumenthead/
Hi nico
I recall you mentioned recently that instead of scanning film you are using A7 for digitising film some where? Any details? Comparison? nicoimages wrote:

Hi there - I did use a Sony A7R originally. The issue with using any Camera is that you are limited by the Bayer interpolation of colour vs the 3 line CCD of the Nikon. I also noticed that I was getting excessive grain aliasing which made B&W film in particular look grainier than it really was.
Overall digitizing with the Sony A7R was great fun, the dynamic range is exceptional and I got some good results but the Coolscan 9000 with glass negative carrier is rendering better colour and less grainy scans.
A trio of diptychs, made with an Olympus Pen EE3 half-frame camera. Film sold under Jessops name, home-developed and scanned with Nikon Coolscan 9000 ED, VueScan software
