Out in the middle of the desert with 20 miles of dirt road driving to go. Night was falling fast. Velvia 100, Minolta xg-1, rokkor 50/1.7, processed and scanned at boutique film lab in Nashville. Day ends and dusk begins.
last light of the day on the Sierra del Carmen mountains (Mexico).

Ratty, I severely dislike Acros, but I never quite seen anyone working it as well as you do.
Great shots!!!
I'm curious if you could elaborate why you don't care for Acros? I use it off and on myself, but I can't say I've ever been outright displeased with it.

Don't mind at all. As I shot more and more film I find Acros being bland and lacking the contrast I want.
It doesn't have to do with a film as such - just my preference and my shooting style.
There is a tiny upside to Acros - all Fuji film has a pin on a drum and a hole at the beginning of the roll so you can easily fasten the film when loading. It's a nice little touch that is a bonus...but that's it really.
For B/W i prefer Ilford Delta 100 and FP4Plus, and I am still exceedingly clumsy with PanF.
