My I have shot so much that if I have anything decent it will take forever to post up. Why is almost every LX ever made broken? You should have bought mine.
Actually, this one is new to me. The rubber bumper just needed to be replaced. It is the same problem yours had.
Shots from my most recent NCPS batch. I think they are all from my Nikon F. All Fuji films, either 100, 400, or 800 Superia. 5.8cm, 35/1.4, and 18/2.8 i think.
There's a real nice depth or presence to those, especially apparent in #3. #4 Screams for a portrait or square crop IMHO, to get more blue in there to balance the orange. Not a criticism, I just think that would look really good.
Thanks guys-
That is Luna and Nate in #3.
Now that i think about it, that last one would make a very good square crop, but i don't like to edit my stuff anymore lol
There were a lot of lenses there. I would have liked to have handled and taken a shot or two with the 21/1.4, 24/1.4, or a Noctilux, but they weren't there. Not that I'm looking to buy any of those
IIRC, Nate was quick to point out (and this makes sense) that the 21 Lux is dumb because it is what it is- a RF lens limited by MFD. Any 21mm, regardless of max aperture, will be the same at .7m MFD.

Its not just that. I've had two broken ones that did not have sticky mirrors.
There are other issues of course (as there are with any camera), but it's sticky mirror that's the usual problem since it's due to degradation over time and affects all LXen. Buy an LX, at some point you will end up with sticky mirror issues.
While I tend to agree that it doesn't seem like the wisest purchase, if I shot a lot of 21mm, I might be interested in the speed. But no the price.
All the people going on about the incredible small DOF at 21mm with that lens seem to be smoking something good though. 21 even at .7m is going to have a pretty sizable DOF. I guess that's the point you are making. The point I'd make is who gives a shit about DOF. haha.
DOF on RFs came up at one point in some thread here about focus and recompose and how it's 'impossible' to get in focus pictures with RF lenses wide open while doing the focus-recompose dance. I pointed out that at .7m, even fast lenses wide open have usable DOF. Compared to say that same lens at 1 foot. Makes a big difference. Some people seemed to be surprised at the actual numbers.
