First shots with the Mamiya 7, well the rental camera
Bought a 80mm lens & had to try it out.
"My" Mamiya 7 is on it's way from Asia along with the 65mm
Felt a little quirky at 1st. Tried it's metering on the 1st & last shots.
BTW, how do you guys rinse/hang your 120 roll film?
I have been using a squeegee lately & it's not working too well.
Do you just use Photo-flo & let them drip-dry?

I have had MUCH better luck with photo-flo and distilled water for the final rinse for water spots and dust. I hang it from the shower rail in the downstairs bathroom, and squeegee with 2 fingers and make sure the fan isn't on etc. I also run the shower for a few minutes before I start developing to dampen any dust etc.

I use photo flo and regular tap water. 1:200 dilution, soak the film in this for 30 seconds, shake the reels a bit once out and then hang to dry. Works pretty good.

Sure, it's Fast Foto in Edina. I'm in SE Minn so I just mail it and download the scans, usually the day they get the film or the day after. I know they scan film for a few of the popular film wedding photographers in Mn/Wi etc. There are cheaper places, but I like the fast turnaround and the fact that post processing is 30 seconds. They were extremely helpful when I started with film a year ago.
Ah, cool! I'm in Duluth. I'd love to send it somewhere in MN rather than across the country if possible. Thanks for the recommendation!

This is probably not the proper way but I have had good results with no water spots. After rinsing in tap water I wet, just past dampen, a new/clean micro fiber cloth with Rubbing alcohol fold the cloth to about 2-3 inches by 12 wrap/fold it over both sides at the top of the film while hanging and run it down the film one time. If the cloth is too wet it leaves streaks otherwise no problems so far. Then close the bathroom door and let dry. I get the MF cloth at OSH in a bag of 20 for about $10 in the auto section.
