I read more about the Wista and Tachihara and the Chamonix does really seem to have something special, a few really nice touches... Hmm...
Can you recommend a good but not too pricy 90mm lens? I am thinking of starting with a 90/210 set, and possibly adding a 150 later on. The Schneiders look good to me in general.
The Chamonix is a different design than most other folding field cameras. But since you aren't familier with either of them, it probably wouldn't matter which one you choose. The Chamonix design is a little slower to setup, you have to screw in the front standard instead of it just unfolding to it's correct position like most others. And it doesn't have many "dents" when setting all the movements to neutral. you do it by sight and by feel when things line up, rather than feeling a dent to know that the movements are zeroed out. For this fact alone, I might suggest that this wouldn't be a good first camera, but it probably wouldn't take you long to get used to.
As for a 90mm lens, I've got a Super Angulon F8 that i really like, it's got a good amount of coverage (I can do like 2 inches of rise and still cover 4x5), but from what I've heard pretty much any of the "name brand" 90mm lenses are going to be pretty good. I rented an f5.6 and compared it to my f8, and ended up not seing much of a difference in brightness on the ground glass to warrent the extra weight of the hefty f5.6, I never tried one of the f4.5's though.
tkjaer - fantastic. The rainbow, the red coat, the huge sheets of water on the left side of the falls... that would make quite a print (if it doesn't already.)

Thanks! It doesn't yet, but I'm fairly sure it will in time. :-)
I'm gonna give this a try. Not recent, took these in December of 2008. It was the first roll I ever shot and the first time I developed pictures.
Rolleiflex TLR (my favorite camera by far) + TMAX 100
