Apparently how it's developed has as much to do with grain as the film itself. Learning this stuff too, Joan. I am so bored with digital that I am selling it all. Film and my scanner is where it's at for me for a while.

trying to learn to develop film, this time used a Lomo Sprocket Rocket, my scanner cannot handle the wider taller image and gosh knows why it is soo grainy, but trying is fun!
Jon B, sure would like to know story behind little blue toy and rock "sculpture"
Trying is fun .
I would like to know the backstory as well. I just happened upon this. My guess is that some inventive soul found the doll, the old beer can and the rocks/bricks near by and decided to get creative.

I'm bored of digital and the nearly endless supply of drooling fan boys that come along with it. Film shooters are soooo much more relaxed, it's a real refreshing change.
I'm not selling my digital gear, but I have no temptation to buy anymore.
I am done with digital. Yes I know it has its place, but not for me. I figure about 2-3 rolls a month. Hand developed and scanned. You are right about the laid back nature of film shooters. I don't know of any that aren't.
I love how film looks and feels and I haven't ever seen a digital image that captures it. Seen some get close, but not close enough. I like the infinite shades of grey and just how smooth it can be. Digital gets close...
There is a romance with film that is absent with digital.
OK, here is the first roll from the Pentax 6x7. I love how sharp the 75mm is!
One shot has a big flare spot cause don't have a lens hood, but just bought one off Ebay.
I totally blew hyperfocal on these shots, but at least the foreground is sharp
I thought I corrected for MF but obviously didn't Spoiled with the LF, f45 & tilt DOF.
Note to self needed.
Didn't have any issues with shutter vibration on shots at 1/4 & 1/8, so my tripod & technique is stout enough
I processed these pretty quickly after scan so they might need some work.
I really like the relative ease of use of this MF, the lower processing cost per image & longer focal lengths.
I still love LF for the control & of course the big negs!
Kinda fun having choice of 4x5, 6x7 or 35mm to play with
Will be picking up 200mm(100) & maybe a 300mm(150). Then of course a real W.A
Come to visit this thread thinking how calm, peaceful and enjoyable it is and read from you other fine folks similar sentiments. Rattymouse, I too am done buying any new digital gear. Not selling mine as I do paid work from time to time but for my enjoyment and personal stuff, it is all film.
Picked up a small plastic compact camera a couple of years ago which i put a film through. Only yesterday I came across it , having been in a draw for a few months. So developed the C41 at the local supermarket. Had a couple of shots, of aesthetic values I quite liked.
Here is one of them.

Thank you Marc, your's are wonderful as well. Poor George Johnson. This doesn't look like France. I spent a few weeks in Dejon, years ago.
Yes, France is no more. Dijon... I guess your visit has something to do with wine Thanks Gary !
