Nice shot Toshiro. Question for you about the Plustek 120. Do you ever have banding issues scanning color medium format negatives? I was reading about this scanner over at the Plustek 120 forum at flickr and there are a LOT of complaints about the quality of this scanner with banding in color images. That really put me down on this scanner as I was hoping to get this.

Can someone explain to me, in a nutshell, how to "Push" film? Does it stay in chemistry longer or do you develop as normal, scan, then adjust in post?

Havent noticed any yet, but I scan in raw with Vuescan. According to the many reports of banding with different scanners when using Silverfast maybe the issue is software related.

Hello

Your scans look perfect - just as I was hoping mine would look too...I purchased the Plustek 120 last week and it has the severe banding problem when scanning 120 negatives - I had the same problem with Vuescan and SilverFast even when inverting the raw scan negative with the colorneg plugin.

More detail about my journey so far -

https://www.flickr.com/groups/plustek_opticfilm_120/discuss/72157640418824644/

Plustek did get back to me very quickly though to say that what I am experiencing is a hardware issue and that I should return the unit ASAP.

I had ordered the scanner with Calumet UK who said that they would replace it. Will keep the flickr thread updated with progress and how the second unit turns out - hopefully without the banding problem!

Thanks

Nicholas

film stays in chemistry longer to compensate for the underexposure.

Yeah, I saw that thread and found it very discouraging. A scanner of this cost should be absolutely flawless in operation.
