I picked up a Canoscan FS4000US for $25. No software so I spent $90 for the Scanvue. Results are very good so far

Thanks, I really love the results from this camera. It really means a lot coming from you as you continually blow us away with your landscape shots. These are some completely mediocre scans, but there is just so much detail in them! I really need to take this thing out for some tripod work and long exposures.

Thanks, the weather was nice and the place we went (in Shiga Prefecture in Japan, but Lake Biwa) was pleasant. I wanted to try some of that film; I usually love to use Reala Ace 100, but Fuji Pro 400 wasn't bad at all.
TWoK, are you sure you're not a surveyor? I'm especially digging the triangulation of trees in the third image. The scenery is wonderful to behold, thanks for sharing these.

Ha ha, no I'm not a surveyor, although I grew up around one , thanks!
