Well I received my new scanner a week or so ago however it did not have a power cable (left out of the package on accident). The power cable should arrive today so I am anxious to start scanning. Lots to scan and wanting to go back and rescan some of the negatives from trips out west. Lots to come!
Very nicely done, and such a handsome boy! What is it about film, that even to me, on my uncalibrated imac, and untrained eye, that looks so unusual when looking at a digital photo? is it because i see what i want? am i the only one that feels this way? to me it seems that with my eye, that i see an image that looks real, and alive vs. that well, plastic look of DSLR output? its an open ocean of opinions but this is my take. yeah i guess using programs might achieve these qualities, or they might not!
Thank you a.RodriguezPix.
I have a whole slew of film presets for digital that are supposed to mimic film. They don't. Film just has a different look, or, rather feel to them. Why I shoot it for personal reasons. For work, I still shoot digital (for ease, convenience and my lack of experience with film). I am hoping this will change soon. What a difference a real scanner makes!
