Anyone shoot with the yashica 35 electro gsn? Just picked up a mint copy from my local goodwill and appears to function properly. The mercury battery was of course dead however had not leaked and zero corrosion in the battery compartment. Have ordered the PX32 replacement and looking forward to shooting this. I love shooting with a standard focal length but sometimes find the 50 just a bit long, feel the fixed 45 will suit me better. We shall see and hopefully some samples to post next week.
Some bad news here. I decided to give up on film, this time for good. This decision came after my lab (the only one that still does film) scratched all the film I shot in my vacations. The slides are less of a problem since they can be cleaned up with the infra red channel but the B&W ones are impossible to clean up. As much as I love film, without the option of good processing, the whole matter is pointless. I will be looking for a M9 in good condition and will probably post a few more images here as I use up my remaining film stock until I sell my Ikons.

You and Kodak...
I guess you don't want to be talked off the ledge?
Which Ikons do you have and how much do you want for them?

Can you not process your own? I'd make my own caffenol before I'd give up film.

that sucks, Edward Is it logistically too complicated to send your work out to USA?
Thank you Anthony! I have done that several times, but it is too much of a hassle. I had to wait until I had 10 rolls or more, and another 4 weeks to get back the film and scans. The costs involved would make a Leica M9 look like a bargain after a short time
Well, certainly not on a level with your experience at all, especially since Im a rank amateur, yet when the local lab that processed it all, C41 E6, you name it, well, when it went belly up, and it was just a mile and half from where I lived, well, it was a major loss, not just to me but to the real pro's here round abouts. so, I can imagine how it's affecting you. I see what you mean, Sebboh, but I'm sure if you shoot film exclusively, you would be much more discriminating, or it would be a good excuse to buy an M9 and 50 lux
Sorry Edward - if I were you I would hold on to at least one film camera and use it periodically.
I like shooting both digital and film, and while shooting both means a lot less posting on this thread, it also means I have the patience to shoot enough film to warrant the wait to see the results.
