I really enjoy your film shots Nate. I was hoping to post some recent film shots but the scanner I bought on eGay arrived with a dead AC adapter so I have to hunt down a new one.

Thanks. These are my very first scans and I didn't have time to do any testing or set custom settings. Looks like I need to clean the glass (and negs) first as I see some dust bunnies... For some reason, most of the Ektar I have used seems to have fairly flat, muted colors. I expected much higher saturation but I'm not getting it. The blues and greens almost look pastel in some of my shots. I've only used it with my FE2 if that matters.

I'm getting muted colours in soft light, but in brighter light the colour just sings.

Wow - my colors are nowhere near as saturated as those.... I may have to experiment with some of my other lenses as I have mainly been using the Nikkor 50mm f/1.4. Thanks for the sample pic.

When scanning film, you can make it looks saturated, muted, or whatever. Scans aren't really an accurate representation of the film. Comparisons from one film to another can be made if similar scan settings are used, but that's about it. The saturation and contrast amount that a particular lens gives, is very minor to what can be done (good or bad) in scanning the film. At least, that's been my experience.
