ZI + ZM 50 ( i m pretty sure )
Edward have your tried the ZM 50 1.5 wide open on your ZI. I'd like to see how that would work.
Sorry Joan I don't have the Sonnar, mine is the Planar. You will find plenty of wide open samples on RFF, and all issue have been discussed like focus shift, lens calibration for f/1.5, spherical aberrations wide open.
Weezintrumpete, very nice women's portraits as usual. I very much like no. 2,3 and 4. I have always wondered about your approach to all these women, how do you get them to pose for you?
The rangefinder lines up the two images for focusing, just like you would normally focus in a TTL camera, i.e. it only sets the plane of focus. Depth of field is needed to take care of the rest of the things you want in focus. With a rangefinder you can't see the depth of field, and have to rely on aperture scales, chimping or experience.
Some more fine work Patrick - I was wondering if you had gone away for good! The 105mm is a great lens for portrait work, even if it means having to have strong enough arms to support the 67 throughout the session...
Shot a roll of kodak gold 200 yesterday. As for cheap film, I usually am shooting fuji200 but thought I would try the gold. Someone on here made the comment "fuji cold, kodak warm." I tend to agree with this. Will post some more in the next few days however here is one. Wheat field I pulled off the road to take a few shots of. Very peaceful setting.
Efke 25 a.k.a. Adox 25!!! My favorite B&W film, maybe. I love the tonality in those shots, very classic, but it really deserves sharpness, having such fine grain. Tripod?
thanks corp and carsten. efke 25 is my favorite film as well. first time shooting it with the tlr. my technique definitely did not help with a slow film and a slow lens. but I do love the tones nonetheless. the '58 autocord's meter didn't do a bad job either.
Okay, now I see that a challenge it is to shoot film and then scan it!
Here are my first with Contax N1 and Zeiss 24-85 on Kodak Gold 200.
I started out on the first one removing the border in PP, then I said, "hell with it!" Vignetting is from after-market lens hood -- I have a proper (used) one on the way.
I love the Salton Sea area, and Salvation Mountain is incredible. I need to go back out there!
Speaking of film, I've been using my Dad's old Pentax again, which was actually the camera I learned with in the very beginning, I just restored it recently and it's working great (except the meter is underexposing a bit). I was at a thrift store the other day and I found a Vivitar 28-85 f/2.8-3.8 in K-mount for $15 so I picked that up, it's made by Kiron so it should be a nice lens Going to try it with my very last roll of LP400.
Anyways, here's a few random ones from me. I'm still searching for inspiration, trying to get myself out of a creative funk.
Color is: Hexar AF on Kodak Portra 400, and B&W is: Pentax MX w/ SMC-M 50mm f/1.7 on Legacy Pro 400

FWIW I like "Summer" - if you need some help with your mojo, I will be not too far away from you in Joshua Tree tomorrow and Wednesday - feel free to bring your RZ67 with you if you want to join!
Ah how I wish I still had the big lug. Easily my favorite camera that I've ever owned.
Only film cameras I have right now are 35mm, and mostly I'm just using the Hexar AF, which honestly is a very special camera, it's quite enjoyable to work with.
Sadly I don't have the time mid-week to head out on a trip like that, but perhaps we can put something together soon! It would be fun
