Just got an email from Cinestill about an entire line of color, black & white negative films + color transparieces. They seem to be implying they come straight from the eactory to Cinestill (exclusive?)

question to the film experts - what do you think of the new Kodak Ektacolor Pro 400 and Ektapan color films being offered by CineStill Film?
And how do you think they compare to Ektar 100 and Portra 160?
From what I can tell Ektacolor is Portra and Ektapan is T-MAX.
Eastman Kodak doesn't own the rights to the Portra and T-MAX names, so they have to call them something else now that they are distributing them themselves.

My off season is finally coming to an end here in the UK as we have some light at last.
Camera + lens in filename.
All Kentmere 400 + various B&W filters.
Wishing everyone a great 2026 with lots of photo-ing.
Cheers, Simon

Alaris owns the old names, and apparently Kodak was forced to invent the new names.

Looks like they didn't have to rebrand Tr-X.
If I'm getting it right most of the films are being distributed by Alaris (using the old names) and Eastman Kodak (using new / different names) simultaneously.
Tri-X is one of the last that is still solely being distributed by Alaris, as of now.
