That was my gateway camera into the Rolleiflex world, followed by Linhof. It was a beast that took a beating in fixed and rotary winged aircraft during my crazy times in and over Laos...and yes I have the photos to prove it!
It is the heaviest (1829 grams or over 4lbs) TLR Mamiya ever made, and also the smallest. The image quality reminds me of my first medium format camera the Bronica S with a couple Nikkor lenses. The Bronica sounded like those boards percussionist clap together (why I sold it), and the Mamiya has a quiet refined click. Ah, music to my ears.
I hope you wore a harness while shooting out the open helicopter doors?

Some of the sellers in Japan are not charging for shipping; I just bought two Fujinon LF lenses from separate dealers and the tariffs/surcharges ended up being 53.00 USD and 68.00 USD for items that were 251.00 USD and 333.00 USD respectively. The purchases were well worth it to me, nearly 1/3 less than US sellers, both B&M stores, and locals on the forums.
Looks like those who offer free shipping or charge as usual ( $30-$40 )has the message/notice of the US customs policies pop up after I clicked into the product page.
For those who charge over $100 shipping doesn't show the message/notice. I'm assuming that include the tariff

Most of the time....
roboticspro,
Great shots! I had a stringer at the paper that hung out of a single engine plane over the English channel to get surfaced U-boat photos during WWII. His feet were in the plane, but he tipped his whole body out under the wing hanging with a 4x5 camera. He showed me one stamped "top-secret" photo of a surfaced sub. He must have been pretty close. It is amazing what people like you did to document some of the most arduous times. Thank you.
