I’ve never done star trails on film and thought I’d try while in west Texas. Was planning on finding a cool tree or something and setting up shop.
But things didn’t align. I was super tired from driving, it was a half moon that didn’t set until 3am and was very windy.
So I just got lazy and set it up outside my airstream that I was staying in for the night. Was planning on a 1+ hour exposure and after 30 minutes I was ready for bed haha. Also didn’t realize the red light was even there until after. Was still good practice! And really neat you can capture night skies like this with only one exposure.

First, kudos for trying this after driving all day. Pretty good for a first attempt and the shadow from the tree across the trailer is a nice touch. One thing to remember is to compensate for reciprocity. You might have to dig around a bit to find a chart for the Vision films.
The 43 was certainly wide enough, so we will probably be seeing more of the star trails images.

Thanks. I think with a good subject in the foreground star trails could be very neat. For night stuff, I use Portra 400's reciprocity at ~ ^1.35, but for star trails we don't really need it. For foreground though we would.
Roll 166: Hasselblad 203 FE with Acros and various lenses. Developed in Rodinal.
Not shown is one exposure which appears to be impacted by bubbles during developing, which is strange given that I tap the heck out of the tank, so I am going back to using the Simma roller for continuous agitation during developing.

Unfortunately it keeps the worst time. It’s movement has been magnetized and so gains 90 minutes a day, easy. I have bought two different demagnitizers, tried everything suggested online, and the best managed so far is getting it to run..
Not really in the mood to take it to a jeweler who wants to charge me $500 for 30 secs of labour… The watch was a gift so it has sentimental value which is why I still have it. FYI typing this wearing my $15 Amazon Golden Hour watch which keeps perfect time…
I understand the sentimental value. I have a few of those myself which I get serviced regularly. Obviously spend a good bit but it is worth it to me. I have one that needs servicing but I don't wear it so it just stays tucked away for now.
I decided to experiment to see if Kodak Aerocolor IV 2460 could work in my pinhole camera. I had my doubts, because I need to use the red window to see the frame numbers, and this film is really susceptible to light piping. I loaded and unloaded the film in a changing bag to be safe, and kept the shutter on the red window closed except when I was advancing the film. I still got an orange cast, but some of the photos came out okay, including these two. Ondu 6x6 pinhole camera, Reflx Lab Pro Color 100 (Aerocolor 2460)
It was Riley's birthday yesterday - 12/26 - he turned five. I am celebrating that date as his birthday as it was 12/26 one year ago that I adopted him out of a kill shelter.
So to mark the day - dog beach! And I'm posting a few pics as I don't think I've posted any of him in the past.
