Thank you man, like I said there are tons of options I don't even know what I should look for, lol
He is landscape guy and owns a 50/F1.8 I guess, so I like to gift him a wider lens for his college life which starting this summer.
I have always been a fan of the 24/2.8 Ai up to the AFD versions. Those can be found relatively inexpensively too.
Mamiya NC1000 + Ferrania Solaris 400 shot at ISO 120 (expired in 2006). I wish they would bring this color film back into production but they seem to be focused on black and white only.
Shot my first test roll of XP2 400 through my new ONDU 6x6 medium-format pinhole camera. I have to get my snow exposure chops back (I usually use an incident meter for snowy landscapes and forgot to do that this time; the other solution is to add two stops of exposure compensation when using a reflective meter).
Ok, this is my second BW roll. I found this one in my Nikon FE and shot the remainder around town as "throw away" shots to test chemistry. The first part of the roll was from 2007, but when I looked at the camera, I had no idea when or where it was shot.
Bulk loaded Tmax 100.
Developed this roll in 30 year old Rodinol, which worked great except there was significant base fog.

If you want a cheaper AF lens, probably go with an AF-D lens: The 28/2.8 AF-D is to be avoided IMO (seems to be the same rather uninspiring design as the Series-E lens),
The 28/2.8 AF has the same 5 element optical design as the Series-E. But the 28/2.8 AF-D has a new 6 element optical design and is apparently a decent lens (judging from reviews, never had it myself)
Thanks, this was taken back in September at Lake Tahoe. Trail is called Incline Flume. This day we had some smoke in the air from fires upstate which resulted in some interesting, warm light.

Beautiful pics. Where did you go hike?
Went to Kawaguchiko for 2 days 1 night. Came across MT.Fuji Marathon and I got sick because I didn't have enough clothes to ride a bike in the early morning (6am). Then I had to walk with my bike for 1.5 hours when I back to hotel because of the marathon had begun.
The day was beautiful but I didn't feel right to take photos.

I saw today that Used Photo Pro has a "Mint-" 35 f/1.8G with box for $335 and an "Excellent" 28 f/1.8G for $280. Great prices there. A 35 f/2D would probably be ~$200 if you just grabbed a nice one online. Not sure where 28 f/2.8D's live, but I imagine it's closer to $150.
