How do you convert your images and is the look on purpose? Just wondering because your images from that roll seem to have a blue / cyan cast with almost no yellows and highlights are almost blown. Both not characteristics I associate with Portra 400, so was wondering if that was intentional
Just my own inconsistent workflow for conversion (manually camera scanned (which seems fine) + manually converted in an image editor), I was pretty happy with how this process worked for b+w but it's definitely not as straightforward for colour...

Converting color negatives manually is an uphill struggle to say the least. I think it’s possible to trial Negative Lap Pro and/or filmomat Smartconvert for free. I tried avoiding paid plugins for a while but it’s money well spent if you want to shoot color.
So when the snow starts falling in Hermosa Beach, do you just pop off the wheels and start shredding? Might as well, if it’s snowing in Hermosa Beach, we have bigger problems.

I put off making the change to Lightroom. Once I did and started using Negative Lab Pro, it made converting so much easier. Mostly it’s black and white but I have tried some color negatives and was pleasantly surprised how well it worked. It was at the point where my time was worth more than the annual fee for Lightroom and the initial cost of NLP.

People are laughing at me now. Well, not just now, but for quite a while. But who'll be laughing when a blizzard finally hits Hermosa? Me, that's who!
And I also had to differentiate myself from all the other Leica/cr@p camera shooters in LA. Shooting pics off a skateboard was not enough. Shooting pics off a converted snowboard? There can be only one.

Paying for NLP and LR is the best investment in my photography. Simple as that. This stuff just plain works.

post a RAW file and we can convert it for you so you can see the difference.
