Great pic of your Dad, Jim. And colour really helps with this portrait as it allows you to feel the late afternoon sun’s warmth.
Thanks! I am also reminded that I need to remember to use to APO-Lanthar more often. It's kind of a funny size, but it's not really an issue in use...but damn, that lens can resolve some silver halide/sensitizing dyes.
This angle has less appealing light and a cluttered background, but the sparkle and clarity in the eyes is testament to what this lens can do.
Also, has anyone figured out what Flic Film Aurora 800 is? From my research, it's not Kodak Max 800 and it's not 500T. This was my first roll of it...and it makes me want more...(before it invariably disappears).

Leica M7, Voigtlander 35mm f/1.5 VM, Flic Film Aurora 800....Show more →
Since it’s a C-41 film, did you develop it yourself or take it to a lab? The colors are amazing but also very natural. Not too ridiculously priced considering a roll of Pan F from MPX was $14.49. Hopefully it’ll be around for a while.
Stable·Horse
Unruly with a touch of despondency, just because the stable is a place of rest and recuperation.
Going out of the cage, he should return to be old but still vigorous.
BTW, Sorry for analog film effects by phone pics, I didn't have my camera with me at that time.

I’ve been crossing the river and going to Citizen for C-41. Even though the customer service there is…terse…they have never bungled a roll of my film.

I used to love the grumpy guys but I haven't been there since 2018. Maybe there is someone they could sell the business to and retire. I just won't ever let them touch a roll of B&W.

Nobody knows except the folks at Flic FIlm, and they can't say due to an NDA. They openly provide the names of the film stocks they use for all their other respooled films, but they're not allowed to reveal this one. Most speculation I've seen is that it's Gold 800, which is normally used only in disposable cameras. I use it a lot, from dawn to dusk, just adding ND filters as needed for brighter conditions.
It also looks surprisingly good pushed to ISO 1600.

My copy of the Nokton is not perfectly centered :/
The center and left side of the frame are sharper than my 35/1.4 Distagon ZM (alebit 1/3 of a stop slower at full aperture). The right side of the frame is kinda mushy. Oh well...still a perfect lens ergonomically.

What iso did u shoot the Flic 800 at? The red halos do suggest 500T.
I set the meter for 500 and pointed the M7 at the shadowy bits of the frame, locked exposure and recomposed.
It definitely has red halation, and it’s relatively fine-grained, with nice colors (like 500T). Flic Film claims that it’s native C-41 and it appears more daylight balanced than tungsten. So, is it Portra 800? Gold/Max/Funsaver 800? Deadstock of something old from the freezer?
