Haven't been Bay Area for 10 years but I'm going to visit my friend end of Sep.
Never brought Medium Format but this time I decide to bring one of mine.
Pentax 645 and Mamiya 645 are both out because of the weight and size. Still thinking Rolleiflex 3.5F or Bronica RF645.
I really like my Hasselblad H1 645, but this style camera is a real pain to travel with as they are so big/noticeable. I have a lot of 220 film and the H1 is the only camera I have that can use it.
I've been thinking of getting a smaller RF style 645, but it seems silly just for 220 film. For 120 I'll just be using my Rolleiflex.

Just get a minuscule GW690 and shoot all that 220. No one will notice such a small camera!

If weight and size are a concern, take a close look at the GF670W. It is super compact while still shooting 6x6/6x7, and the built-in light meter means you don't need a separate light meter. While a folder would be even more compact, I would be worried about film flatness.

I just got my Rollei 3.5F not too long ago, still haven't finished a roll.
But man, for some reasons using 3.5F slow me down a lot , even slower than while I'm was using my friend's 503CX.
I'm the person who is too lazy try to avoid the tripod if I could , rofl.
The RF645 still has 1 or 2 pictures left to finish the roll, it is really convenience with no doubt.

Thank you for the vote
Still have almost 2 months to decide.
When you say you're going to the Bay Area, just keep in mind that San Francisco seems to have become really dangerous in recent years and a photographer was killed there a few years back by muggers who wanted his camera. So if you'll be in the city I'd vote for small and discreet.
All of you lightweights with your light cameras...this is from when I could be bothered carrying the RB67 around.
RB67 ProSD, 90/3.5 KL, expired Portra 400NC. A roll around the block from where I lived up until last year: Greenwich, London. If you're a Bridgerton fan you may recognise that house (Rangers House, Greenwich).

Yea, my friend told me the same thing.
I also watched a Youtube video that describes how to avoid dangerous when you taking photograph in Bay Area.
I'm curious those street photographers in Bay Area how to deal with this situation.

I'm generally inclined to be disbelieving of 'media' fear mongering.

And before someone says "yeah yeah ok you just went around the block", I'll dig up some more from when I used to take that beast on family holiday... ...Show more →

Thank you but I'm not gonna buy a new camera anytime soon.
Currently have Mamiya 645 pro , Pentax 645N , Rolleiflex 3.5F and Bronica RF645. My next one should be 503CX and my medium format collection should be done.
GS645S , GA645 and GW690 were on my list before I got the Bronica RF645. I didn't consider folder ver because I noticed the folder ver most likely will have bellows issue.
In the end, I chose RF645 over the 3 models I mentioned above because I also considered the reliable issue.
