Nate, 160NC isnt made anymore. It's been replaced by just portra 160, which is supposedly an improved portra. Ive got only 2 rolls of NC left in my fridge, but what I see from other people's pictures of the new stuff I will have no problem switching over.
portra (NC colored) is the only color film I like.
From what I understand, the new Portra 160 is like 160NC but with finer grain. Same saturation and contrast. On the other hand, Portra 400 has a bit more saturation than 400NC.

I didn't see that they'd announced a new portra. I'm sure it's great, but it's always been overpriced.
I just got my first rolls of Portra 400 in 220 back and man oh man do they look good. Best 400 speed color film ever.
I have a fridge full of 160 and 400 VC, both 120 and 135. If anyone is really missing it let me know, I don't particularly love the VC but I got it when work cleaned out the fridge late last year.
Speaking of discontinued emulsions, I was sad to see Fujichrome T64 disappear. There's no more 3200°K long-shutter reciprocity-balanced film left, as EPY is toast as well?
This took some coaxing to get back to "normalcy" somewhat. Fuji T64, Fuji GSW69III. Tripod from hell.
Thank you Twok...at the risk of provoking blush, we all know it's far easier to set up a cheap-ass tripod and photograph urban landscapes in the City in which one lives, than to gain the implicit or explicit trust and/or proximity to foreign subject which you capture quite well. Your interior temple shot a few posts prior, in particular, speaks to me.
Keep it up, that shot and others, are meaningful in an age where much...isn't.
