This is what happens when the shutter for some reason gives a much longer exposure than it is set for! The rest of the roll was fine. This is also why you should exercise the shutters in old cameras about once a month.
But, this accidental pic worked out just great!
Me too! One of my plans during the holidays is to go out to some of the skating rinks in town and take photos of skaters with a slow shutter to get some nice motion blur. I don't generally like static frozen shots of people in action; I like to see a little blur and when I'm taking photos of dancers I often drop the shutter speed to 1/30 of a second, sometimes even slower, to get major motion blur for the fun of it.
I think I shot this one at 1/60 in a dark dance hall a few weeks ago; when i'm shooting an SLR I always worry about mirror slap because mine don't have mirror lockup so 1/60 is about as low as I feel I can go. This was on a Minolta XD with Delta 3200. Just a little blur to suggest motion.

This expired roll is weird. Even though my exposures are consistent, some images show huge grain and fog, others act like it is fresh film, albeit having to be shot at +2 EV.
Island Lake under a third quarter moon. Accidentally left the aperture at f/2.8 (I meant to stop down more) for this approximately three hour exposure. There was a group of campers around a fire in the lower right corner of the frame.
Nikon FM2n, AI Nikkor 50mm f/1.8S, Kentmere Pan 400, developed in LegacyPro L110 at 1:31 for 5.5 minutes.
