My Carmel-By-The-Sea anecdote. We were having dinner at an outside patio, when a rat scurried across the seating area. A lady screamed and yelled 'rat!'. The waiter sauntered up with his nose appropriately in the air, and stated that it in fact was not a rat. But 'madam, that is a Carmel Valley Tree Rat'.
Like she should feel privileged... it was a freakin rat. But nice spin on it!
p.s. I love Carmel. The full name just takes too long to type.
Hey, life is good! Fred has started a film forum, you're rubbing elbows with the hoi polloii, occasionally a toe with a rat, the HP5 is looking good and you're in one of the most scenic area on the Pacific coast of the U.S.!
Enjoy!

Life was good... back at work now. Have not been able to shower as my plumbing is backed up. Plumbers have been here all day and have not yet been able to fix it.
But, we got a film forum! So you're right! LIFE IS GOOD!
I went to Carmel once to see if I could find any of the scenes Edward Weston shot there. While walking on a path overlooking the water I heard a loud tap-tap-tap and looked down to see a big old sea otter breaking clamshells on his chest.

I didn't find the 500T (at box speed) particularly useful tbh as it wasn't really fast enough to shoot at hand-held after sunset. Needs to be pushed 1-2 stops..
whoa! Been away for a bit and notice big changes including a whole new forum for film. I was worried this thread was gone. Anyways, I'm back (until I get side tracked again).
