The varsol generally releases the grip on the glue but doesn't actually turn it into a liquid in any of the uses so far. It works really well for removing masking tape that has been left on way too long and exposed to the sun. A little soaking & the tape lifts off in tact.

THANKS andrew81. This is a job I need to do, since one day my screen shield just fell off, and I put it back on, but dust seemed to get behind it ever since. good job. But when I read the title I thought youreplace the Actual screen not the cover.
now if we could only get the new screen from the 50d/5dmk2 to replace the older low res screens from the 450/40d/1dmk3/1dsmk3 that would be great.
