For the record, since I didn't "choose" to be straight, it is logical that homosexuals don't choose to be homosexual either. The ones I know say they didn't choose. After all, until very recently and judging by this thread, maybe not, it sure as heck would not be a "choice" that anyone would want to make...
*editted to further clarify that being homosexual in society has been historically difficult and painful and not a choice that one would want to make if it were merely that.

Not the ones that I have known. They either simply wanted to have kids (and didn't bother to inform their wife that they were gay) or in the other case was raised catholic and was afraid to tell the family and thought that they could change because the bible tells them so.

Often catholic or fundamentalist - the mini-van dads.... The shame and hypocrisy keep them buried. Then they cruise and the neighborhood kids smash the windows and rob them because - as so many posts in this thread would indicate - crimes against homosexuals go under-reported and get a weird tacit endorsement.
