I purchased this lens from a friend who'd sent the lens to Canon in preparation for selling it. He got it back and immediately shipped it to me. Canon fixed the lens mount, made electrical/mechanical adjustments, cleaned and inspected the lens. Hasn't been outside since being fixed by Canon.
I've downgraded both my Mark IIN and 300 IS 2.8 to help fund this, but in retrospect, it's just going to be too long for me. I really wanted a 400 or 500, but talked myself in to the 6. Now looking for a 500 or a 400 in a trade or will sell the 600 outright. Aside from the paint wear, the lens is in great shape. Hood is in great shape having been covered with tape for quite some time.
