Does anyone know if the D70 is to be the exact same proportions as the D100? The d100 was too big in my hands, and I was worried the d70 would be similarly awkward to hold. It's a sexy beast tho
I believe the D70 body will be slightly smaller than the D100. It is supposed to be based on the F75/N75 body, as I recall. I suspect you can get a good feel for the difference in size by checking out the 35mm body.
This is an "anticipated" top/rear view published in the January issue of a Japanese photo magazine called "Camera Man" ... the real D70 will NOT be a trimmed down D100, and it's NOT based on the F75.
I heard some very interested things in Japan though ... the new Minolta DSLR will use the the same CCD in D100, also Pentax is going to fabricate their own CMOS sensor ...
One guy who has beta tested the 1D mk2 is very disappointed ...
I don't know what model I tried out last time, but it seems the d100 is must smaller, lighter, and more comfortable in my hands then previously thought? Maybe I tried out a d1x or similarly bigger model, or a d100 with the grip. either way the last time i tried it [the d100] felt awkward in my hands. now it is just comfortable
I will be very, very curious to see how the D70 compares to the D100. Will it's features be so close to the D100 that it will be a better buy? Or will it be stripped down and not worth the assumed lower cost?
i am guessing bill, that it will be like the digital rebel to the canon 10D. the majority of the features most people want/need, and a few that only some people want/need. 90% of the functionality seems to be the going rate
