I like 3 best. I think the side lighting and the catchlight in the eye give it a more dramatic feel. Nice job on the exposures with the backlighting on 4-6. Are these right out of the camera or some tweaking in post?
No tweaking on the day shots, right out of the camera. Some noise/filter (clean sweep) reduction on the night shots. Thanks John for the reply.
#'s 3 and 7...both seem to capture elements of the game.. composition of 3 is very nice...the element of the implied location of the ball in #7 is nice...as it the crispness of the image with the blur of the glove...

Ted - I like your backlit shots best. They look just a wee bit hot, but that might be unavoidable. Did you shoot these Av with + EC?
The exploding catcher's mitt is always fun. As one who is still looking out at a white lawn, I saw that and thought "Aw, nice - dust! Haven't seen dust for a while".
Ted,
First of all, congratulations on having a son play baseball for Villanova - you must be proud! He has had an excellent career, and a great W-L record! I attend games at my alma mater where I got my graduate degree (Rice) and I know my son dreams of playing there!
I like many of your shots. I would brighten #3 just a tad, and like 4 and 5 a lot. Of course there are no BAD shots of your son playing college baseball! I like the stadium shots too. It is hard to shoot at night, but you might consider some fill in Photoshop or Lightroom on 1 and 2. Great stuff!

Ted, your son's got good form on the mound...any chance he could work with my 12 year old Nice shots...
Steve thank you so much for the reply and the compliment on my son. I am very, very proud of him. He has worked very hard on his pitching since he was 9-years old.
I know nothing about baseball. (Don't do ball games - - only when I had to in school). I've read that someone here posted that the first look a tad underexposed. Personally I like the color of those more than the super bright ones.... But I have a tendency to like "moodier" shots.
But I love these shots. They're super action shots & I know you worked under difficult conditions. I'm sure your son & his team mates will love them. You've caught some great action shots here.
