The GBHs are on the nests here in San Diego and it being Valentines Day on Thursday, my wife, and this is her idea, thought these would be "sweet."I took these images a couple of days ago at their rookery in Oceanside. There is some tenderness in their displays, so it was tough to argue with her logic. Thanks for looking. (9)

Very nice and very interesting captures of their behaviour. I've never seen the "sweet" side of them before. They do seem to care for each other.
Wonderful behavioral series. They are all great photos, nice and sharp and good exposures. This series demonstrates what I call the great side effects of nature photography. We see things that we probably wouldn't see if we weren't photographing. Thanks for sharing this beautiful scene.
Chris, this is a really nice series for heron lovers (myself included). I only wish I had been there to see what you captured. A really cool set of pictures to look at, thanks for sharing.
Did you even blush at these tender moments? Wonderful work as usual Chris and you constantly amaze me the overall quality of your photos. Your subjects must know when you are in the area and are ready to pose. These were shot east to west from the dock side?
