I was very high up Bill! I cant remember exactly what height was...but it was the highest point South of Grants Pass to Jacksonville. The locals called it "Panther Mt.". There was a highschool and USPS trailer on the lot of the grocery store. There was a fantastic steak house next to the market! Steaks flopped over the edge of the plate!!!
All those big whites from that era were wonderful, but weighed a ton. I'm amazed every time I pick up the RF600/4 because it is so much lighter than my old EF600/4.
Checked off another drone assignment today, this one had been moved six times due to the contractor's schedule and the weather. The Feds finally got so tired of amended authorizations they just told me to go do it..............

The EF600 I'm sure weighed a little more I'm sure, no wonder you're so tuff.
The RF Lens...RF 100-300 for $9500.00, RF 400 for $12,000.00 and the RF 600 for $13,000.00...OMG
That EF500 was $1850, unless it conks out I'll be gettin a work out for a while.

Couple pounds difference gets really heavy many hours into an air show.

Mine is from 1997 and YES it weighs a ton! No IS! But I use a gimbal or tripod at 76 1/2. My weightlifting days ended in 2008 with 4 hernias.

You also have to take into consideration the weight of EOS Series 1 bodies at the time. The 500/600 and 800 were all mounted on Series one bodies, and I’d just grab the appropriate one. Probably why I have a knot in my lower left back muscles. Honestly, I sold the EF 800 just so I wouldn’t be tempted to shoot with it. That , and the fact that the day had to be perfection to take advantage of the focal length.
