Great news Jim!!! FT Rucker..home of Army aviation! Is that the 120P JIm?
Wish him luck for me please!
Maybe I will see his DC area unit back flying over my house with a "waggle and a wave" and him flying!

Hi Dan, It is the 120, he says it is a great performer. My guess is they are putting him in this program and he'll end up flying a PC 12 or a King Air with a bunch of bumps on it.
The first time in my career I have clients calling me to tell me that they have tons of work for me, but they don't want me out until this weather breaks. My 777 clients are having trouble dealing with the heat in the hangar and my oil field folks say it's unbearable. I guess late September and on will be a bit crazy. The last couple of days have been relatively "balmy", highs in the mid to upper 90's, but it's headed to 108 tomorrow. I'm going to try to get some aerials in early tomorrow morning before the scorching begins.

Thanks Jim. Whatever aircraft he is assigned to will be another "endorsement" on his pilots license!

Went to Atlantic City for the preshow practice yesterday. I didn't bring my 600 f4+1.4 TC this time, just the 200-600 on the Sony A1. For quite a few occasions I could use 840mm so I wouldn't have to crop as much. For the show in WV next weekend I will bring the 600+1.4TC, not the 200-600. The only thing that is of interest to me at the WV show is the F-22.
At the practice yesterday, I was surprised to see the NJ Air National Guard's 4 F-16s were armed. I didn't recall seeing that before. I also saw the Luftwaffe's A400M Atlas in the air for the first time. Saw it on ground in the past. Of course a pair P-51 didn't hurt either. ...Show more →
Just OUTSTANDING photography Douglas!!!!!
I don't know what other accolades I can present but OUTSTANDING!
I have seen plenty of many of these aircraft up close and personal at JB Andrews but I dont think they ever looked this good! Yes the "RRF"(Rapid Response Fighters) were armed to the teeth!

Just finished editing a video assignment for one of my surgical equipment clients. Video editing is becoming a very big component of my daily work flow and it's a black hole of time. Normally it takes more time to edit than it does to capture the footage in the first place. Chandler and I spent 10 hours setting top and shooting this assignment with the client, I'll have eight hours I the finished edit when it's all said and done. No wonder production agencies charge $5,000 a finished minute for video work.

Jim,
I find that many people believe that your photos above, and elsewhere, were taken and posted with just a "pressing of the shutter button" WRONG! Thank you for playing! My wife wonders why I spend so much time in my "man cave".
If there is a composition I need for myself or a client(only 3), it takes time to get it right. It is "artistic composition" not a Kodak moment!

When I interviewed at the newspaper, I asked the sports editor if he wanted any peripheral shots like tunnel entrances, cheerleaders or band. He said "definitely not". Well, just for grins I took a couple just for my own benefit. The next summer he aksed if I had any tunnel shots they could use for their football preseason special they publish the first week of the season.
Well, it happened again this year. The thing is the high school installed LED lighting, along with team matching blue lights. When the team comes out of the tunnel the main stadium lights go dark then the theater lights take over. They blink from blackout to a blue with a little white accent. Very hard to get a good shot, especially since I am maxed out at 25,600 ISO. I looked at the RAW files and said I wasn't even going to try to correct them. Well, he texted me last night wanting some from this particular school. I went to the unprocessed CR files and found them. I spent a lot of time in Topaz trying to get something usable so I could lighten them up in Lightroom. If any of you Topaz users have any thoughts, I would love to hear them. BTW, because of all the school photographers, cheerleaders and flag bearers standing in the center of the tunnel, I shot the photos between two of the dancing girls lined up on the side, glad I didn't get kicked in the head! I sent him several like this:

JIII and I have been installing cabinets in the garage this afternoon. We lasted as long as we could, but just retreated to the a/c. Last time I looked it was 111.
