Love that last one especially...Secret 747 ?...Quite the view point...Nice shots.
It is an "Air America" 747 Bill! (just joking)
And YES "AA" is still alive. Just another acronym.

Had a very challenging assignment yesterday. Helicopter shoot , in addition to the extreme temperatures we have a plume of Saharan Desert dust drifting through which makes everything look like it was captured in “Log”, three stops over exposed and completely desaturated. The air was getting rough, even though it was fairly early in the morning, but my pilot did and exceptional job of keeping things as smooth as humanly possible. First time in a Robinson since an instructor and student went down after goofing up a settling with power exercise and chopping the tail boom off. The video of that plays in my mind way too often, but Ya gotta get back on that horse..........
The final product turned out well given everything we were up against. This is handheld with the R5C. I did a test using the R5 on one round and there was no comparison, using IBIS and a stabilized lens. Kind of surprised me, but I do love the R5C more each time I use it....Show more →
Jim might I suggest a "monkey harness" for helicopter shooting. We used these in SE Asia for "outside the helos body 'events". Made us eazy target but boy it did get the job done!
Great shooting brother! Great entrepreneurship you are!
Congrats!
Please say "Heh" to my best buddy!

Thanks Dan,
Some maybe a little over cooked but a different affect and look, that's for sure.
Dam heat doesn't help much either.
Air Force and Coast Guard has been so nice and friendly lately, and Navy goes beyond friendly.
.
Just had a U2 do a fly by an hour ago, almost touched down, and very loud.

I like them, Bill. They are different in an artistic way.
Went to Wallops Island to watch the Antares rocket launch yesterday, 350 miles of driving and 4.5 hours of waiting, just to get a 5 second fun. The rocket is supplying the International Space Station.

Thank you, Ray and Jim! This was my second time to watch rocket launch. The brightness of the flame changed so rapidly, tough to expose correctly.

Douglas, thses are fantastic compositions!!!
I think we need to chip in and get you a camper. The constant driving and distances you go to get images is remarkable and show your TRUE devotion to photography!
Well done brother!

Thank you Bill and Dan! The driving to Wallops wasn't bad at all, 170 miles each way. At least I didn't need to leave my house early this time. The launch was at 8:30 PM. Sadly, according to folks who are in the knows, there won't be any big rocket launch from Wallops for a long time, only small sounding rockets. A few yeas ago I didn't even know there is a place this close to us where we can see rocket launches.
